Introduction to TWI Job Instructions

Please take in look at this Power Point presentation.  In this presentation I describe a history of “invention” of Standardized Work and TWI training program.  Henry Ford is considered a Father of an Assembly Line and Standardized Work.  The TWI Training within Industry Program was established in August 1940 by the National Defense Advisory Commission and was continued under the Office of Production Management and then the War Production Board.  Henry Ford’s manufacturing philosophies and TWI Job Instruction program are foundation of what became Standardized Work at Toyota.  Toyota, as far as know, still teaches all their Team Leaders and above principles of TWI Job Instructions.
